Leading Precision Manufacturer Case Study
Powered by AeonX Solutions
About the Customer
A leading Indian manufacturer specializing in high-precision engineered components and assemblies for the aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors. The company is known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and global standards, serving a diverse base of OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. As part of its ongoing digital transformation journey, the organization has been adopting advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
The Need for Change
The customer’s critical manufacturing applications (Supplier Portal, Tool Pulse, and Gauge Caliber) were hosted in a traditional on-premises environment that limited their ability to scale, automate, and maintain security compliance. As demand grew, the company identified key pain points that were hindering agility and innovation.
Challenges included
Manual, error-prone deployments without CI/CD, causing lengthy release cycles
Inability to handle peak loads and real-time supplier data efficiently
Lack of fine-grained access controls and centralized audit trails
No automated backup or disaster recovery mechanism
High cost and complexity of managing physical infrastructure
Our Solution
AeonX Digital Technology Pvt. Ltd., an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, designed and implemented a cloud native DevOps solution on AWS. The focus was on standardizing deployment processes, automating operations, and strengthening the security and resilience of mission critical applications.
Architecture & Implementation Overview
01
CI/CD Pipeline for All Applications
A centralized pipeline was established for all three applications (Supplier Portal, Tool Pulse, and Gauge Caliber) using:
- AWS CodePipeline to automate the build, test, and deployment workflows
- AWS CodeBuild for code compilation and unit testing
- AWS CodeDeploy for automated deployments across environments
- GitHub integration to enable version control and collaborative development
02
Application Hosting & Infrastructure
Each application followed a standardized deployment architecture with business-specific configurations:
- Compute
- Applications were hosted on Amazon EC2 instances behind Application Load Balancers, with Auto Scaling Groups for high availability across private subnets.
- Database
- All apps utilized Amazon RDS for MySQL, featuring automated backups for business continuity.
- Security
- Security was enforced using AWS IAM, AWS WAF, CloudFront, and KMS for data encryption.
- Monitoring & Logging
- Used Amazon CloudWatch for real-time metrics and log aggregation, with SNS alerts for proactive issue detection.
- Disaster Recovery
- AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) was implemented to replicate workloads to a secondary AWS Region (Hyderabad), aligning with RPO/RTO objectives.
- Compliance
- Actions and changes across the system were logged via AWS CloudTrail, enabling audit readiness and traceability.
Business Outcomes & Measurable Benefits
Faster Release Cycles
CI/CD implementation accelerated deployments by ~60%, reducing release delays.
Improved Scalability & Availability
Auto Scaling architecture increased application performance by ~40% during high-traffic periods.
Security & Compliance Alignment
Integrated IAM, WAF, and encryption via KMS to support ISO-compliant access controls.
Resilient Disaster Recovery
Failover time reduced from hours to less than 15 minutes, ensuring business continuity.
Cost Optimization
Infrastructure costs reduced by ~35% through auto-scaling and AWS’s pay-as-you-go model.
